He joined the Marines and while stationed in California, he went on a blind date where he met his wife Wanda and they married on January 5, 1957, and were together for 62 years.
Robin worked at St. Luke’s Hospital where he retired from, after 32 years.
Robin was very involved in church. He was a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Bethel and Parkway Baptist Church. He loved singing in the choir. When he lived at Evergreen Community of Johnson County, he liked attending church services and loved playing the harmonica for the residents.
Through the years Robin and Wanda liked to travel by motorcycle and Jeep, joining the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) group. Road trips included Branson, Jamesport, California, Arkansas, Minnesota, and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Also included was a trip to Hong Kong.
Robin and Wanda liked to take their three children camping with other families from First Baptist Church of Bethel.
Robin was proud of the fact that at his age he still had a good head of hair and loved to brag that he was still getting haircuts. He was an avid lover of chocolate stars, peanut M&Ms, vanilla Oreo cookies, and Pepsi, NOT COKE!!
Robin was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Hamblin in 2019, mother Emily Hamblin and father Jack Hamblin. He is survived by his daughter Jody Tomlinson, son David Hamblin, daughter Gail Hamblin, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Thank you for all of the wonderful memories. You will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
