Rosalee R. Hansen

A private funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday June 27, 2025 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Rosalee was born on July 28, 1928 to Renia and Arthur Smith in Hamilton, Kansas. She graduated from Basehor High School in 1946. Then worked as a billing clerk for Ric-Con Hardware and married Warren Dolen Shobe in May. Together, they had 2 children. A son, Bill of Tonganoxie, Kansas and a daughter, Dana of Liberty, Missouri. After twenty three of marriage and the death of W. D. Shobe in May 1969, she married Paul Hansen in 1977 and they were together forty-four years his death in December 2021.

The joy of her life was her grandchildren: Amanda, Sara, Dalton and Trevor. She loved serving the Lord any way she could and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She worked for Kansas City, Kansas Public School District 500 as a Secretary at Washington High School and at the Instructional Resource Media Center where she retired in 1994. She also served as a church secretary for twenty years of her life. She was a Godly role model and mentor to her family. She enjoyed camping, canning, sewing and quilting and shared her gift of hospitality by opening her home to many for a home cooked meal.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, three sisters: Shirley Mueller, Myrle Murphey and Jessi Miller. Brother Oliver Smith and two husbands: Dolie Shobe and Paul Hansen.
