

Rose Marie (Holliday) Maxey, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on February 5, 2024, in Kansas City, Kansas at the age of 84. She had a deep, abiding faith in the Lord and was ready to go home.
Rose Marie spent her life educating others professionally as a master’s degree educated teacher in the Kansas City, Kansas area. She retired in 2000 while teaching at Quindero Elementary. She followed retirement with substitute teaching until 2019. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren and fellow church members through ministries such as Steven’s Ministries, prayer warriors, women’s ministries and mentoring. She ran the food pantry for the church for several years. She was an adventurer who traveled the world, actively played in a harmonica group, and was an avid Gardner.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mavis Holliday and her oldest daughter, Lea. Rose Marie is survived by her husband Stanley Maxey, her daughter Debra Maxey, her son Timothy Maxey, her daughter-in-law Cammie Maxey and their two children Jason and Selena. She is also survived by her granddaughter Cassie Lewis, grandson-in-law Javier Martinez, great granddaughter Ariella Lewis-Martinez, her grandson Phillip Lewis, granddaughter-in-law Monica Lewis, and two great grandsons Liam and Carson Lewis. She is also survived by her sister Connie Holliday and brother Ralph Holliday and his wife Betsy Holliday.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 24, 2024, at Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, Kansas 66109. Visitation with the family is at 11:00AM with the Service at 12:00PM.
