

Russell M. Scovil, 76, of KCK, passed away January 6, 2015 at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be 10-noon, Friday, January 9th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK with graveside services to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Russell was a retired policeman in Peoria, Illinois, was a Navy Veteran. He liked to try different things – a contractor with Kenny Stine – Stine-Scovil Construction – off the road tire business, Radar Tire and last, owned the 610 Club for twenty years. He was a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather and a caring friend.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Wanda Scovil; sisters, Kathleen Scovil, Normal Mall and Carol Berado. He leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Emma (Lee) Scovil; children, Mark Scovil and wife Kirsten of Los Angeles, CA, Justin Scovil of San Francisco, CA, Sarah Spearman and husband Neil of Kansas City, MO, Gene Williams and wife Shawn of Farmington, MO, Teresa Allen and husband Robert of Lee’s Summit, MO; two sisters, Judy Scheidegger of Ormond Beach, FL, and Suzanne Godfrey and husband Jim of The Villages, FL; two brothers, Richard Scovil of Sarasota, FL, and David Scovil and wife Joanne of Sarasota, FL; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
