Stella R. Theno McBride

Stella McBride, 80, of KCK, passed away Monday, June 24th at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, June 28th, at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK, with a Rosary to be prayed at the end of the visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1100 West St., Tonganoxie, KS 66086. Interment will follow the Mass in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 12800 Parallel Pkwy, KCK.

Stella was born December 12, 1932 in Basehor, KS to Ernest and Rose (Vandevere) Theno. Stella grew up in the KCK area and graduated from Piper High School. She married the love of her life, Leo McBride, Sr. on November 12, 1955. Stella loved her family and taking care of her home and family was her life’s work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Rose Theno, her son, Leo McBride, Jr., her son-in-law, Jeff Young, and her brother-in-law, Urban Dziadura.

Stella is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Leo McBride; daughters, Kathleen Young, Theresa McBride and Lisa McBride and her fiancé Michael Stinnett; granddaughter, Madisyn and a grandchild due in January; daughter-in-law Nancy McBride; brother, Ernie Theno and his wife Virginia; sisters, Ethel Dziadura and Virginia Warren and her husband George; as well as many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
