Steven was born April 3rd, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas and passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2025, at his home.
He was a graduate of Schlagle High School, later becoming an automotive mechanic, sharing his passion for cars with others around him.
Throughout his life, Steven found great joy in sports. He was a bowler and a baseball player. He also enjoyed watching races, often visiting Lakeside Speedway.
Steven is preceded in death by his two brothers, Michael E. Doughty (2024), and Jeffery S Doughty (2023); his father Edward L. Doughty (1988); and his stepfather Charles Hayes (2020).
He is survived by his mother Bernita Hayes and many nieces and nephews.
A placement and Celebration of Life for Steven will be held at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, located at 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. The service is scheduled for January 5, 2026, from 11:30 am.
