Steven J, Thomas, 56, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Providence Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at the funeral home. Steven was born on September 22, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to William H. and Patricia S. (Clendening) Thomas. In his younger years he grew up in California before moving back to Kansas City in 1977. He enjoyed the outdoors camping, motor cycle riding and spending time with his grandsons. Steven worked for the Kansas City Kansas Animal Control from 1987 till 2004, when he took an early retirement. Steven is preceded in death by: his parents, brother: William P. Thomas, sister: Sandra Thomas, and nephew: Sean Regan. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years: Nedra S. Thomas of the home, son: Brandon L. Thomas and his wife Sarah of Basehor, Kansas, daughter: Jenna S. Thomas of the home and sister: Linda Dubovick of Pioche, Nevada. Left behind to cherish his memory are his three grandsons: Brandon L. Thomas Jr., Reece W. Thomas, and Logan J. Thomas. Steven was a devoted husband, beloved daddy and loving Pa Pa, he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
