

Thomas Lee Richmeier, age 69, passed away on March 25, 2026. Tom was born on May 18, 1956 in Quinter, Kansas to Leo F. Richmeier and Viola (Dinkel) Richmeier. Tom was the oldest of 4 boys born to the couple. He was followed by Edwin, Leo, and John.
Tom's early education was at Gove elementary school in Gove, KS and Wheatland High School in Grainfield, KS. After high school he went to Votech in Liberal, Kansas to earn a degree in Welding, then years later went to Goodland Votech to earn his degree in Telecommunications.
In between his two stints of education, he became an uncle to two of the most mischievous little guys, his nephews, Patrick and Randy Richmeier. They were his Ride or Die buddies, and they had great times whenever Uncle Tom watched them for Ed and Una.
In 1999, Tom graduated from Votech and went to work for Sprint in New Century, Kansas, which became Norton Siemens, then CenturyLink. During that time Tom not only received his BA in Business but also his MA in Business Management.
Tom met Karen Carpenter at CenturyLink in 2014, and they were married on November 14, 2015; they recently celebrated their 10th anniversary.
Tom lived in Olathe, KS from 1999 until 2020 when he and Karen relocated to Wickenburg, AZ.
Tom enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson 1991 Dresser motorcycle and the recently acquired a 2016 Trike he and his wife purchased for Valentine's Day.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Leo Richmeier and Viola Richmeier.
Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus, both in Olathe, KS and in Wickenburg, AZ. He served as Treasurer for St. Anthony of Padua Council No. 9838, and was also a member of the Fourth Degree San Juan Diego Assembly No. 2836.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Tom can be made to The Thomas Richmeier Memorial Scholarship Fund through the development office at College of the Ozarks. Checks can be mailed to College of the Ozarks, ATTN: Development Office, PO Box 17, Point Lookout MO 65726.
A rosary will begin at 9:00 am followed by a prayer service on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
