

Albert “Al” Blanck, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 31st, 10:30 a.m., at Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 13000 Bennington, Grandview, MO, with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be presented. Visitation will be held Monday, January 30th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6:00 p.m., to 8:00 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 907, Lee’s Summit, MO, 64063.
Al was born August 16, 1922, in Boonville, MO. He was a decorated WWII Veteran with five Bronze Stars, landed at Omaha Beach during D-Day plus 3 and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. After retirement, he and Alice loved to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada. He volunteered with the Disabled American Veterans and Meals on Wheels. Al was an active member of the American Legion.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Blanck of 63 years; one son, Jim Blanck and great-granddaughter, Julianna Blanck. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret “Sue” Filbert and husband Mike; sons, Frank Blanck and wife Diana; David Blanck, Richard Blanck and wife Lori; Steve Blanck; daughter-in-law, Diana Blanck-Trotter; brothers, Bill and Richard Blanck; sisters, Mary Francis Benfield, LuAnn Conway and Mildred Jean Smith. He also leaves ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
