

Albert was born January 22, 1933, in Manila, Philippines and lived there until he was 20 years old. He joined the United States Air Force in April of 1951. In the Korean War, he served as a medical technician; in the Vietnam War, he served in photo intelligence. Albert retired from the Air Force in 1971 and continued his photography career in Kansas City until 1987. Afterwards, he worked for the Hickman Mills School District before retiring again in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Weaver; his mother, Maria (Russell) Weaver; daughter, Becky Maxwell; brother-in-law, Paul Steen and son-in-law, Reed Butler.
Albert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Grace Mary Russell; sister, Marianne Steen; son, Tony Russell; daughter-in-law, Martie Russell; son-in-law, Jim Maxwell and daughter, Chris Butler. Al was blessed with four grandchildren, Abi Arnold, Morgan Vejr (Jimmy), Carly Bennett (Jordan), Matt Russell; and two great grandsons, Luke Bennett and Wyatt Vejr. Al will also be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Al’s visitation will begin at 1pm, followed by a memorial service at 2pm on Monday, July 28, 2025, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO. Final place of rest will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society.
