Her parents were Coleman Riddle and Alice G. (Eastham) Riddle. After her birth, her parents took the little daughter and moved to Max, North Dakota where Coleman took out a homestead. She and her parents with her two sisters and two brothers who were born in the intervening years moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1928. Alice attended elementary and high school in Kansas City. After high school she took a business course and upon completion she joined the working force. During the war years, Alice worked for the Personnel Department but her interest was primarily in the Insurance business; so she began working in that field. Alice was always an independent and highly organized person. She grew up with her two brothers and sisters and the children had many happy years together. Alice met the love of her life, Ralph W. DeVaul, and they were united in marriage on July 03, 1953. They established their home in Kansas City and spent 45 years together. They had no children, but they had many friends through the years. Alice always had a lovely home. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having many parties and doing a lot of entertaining in her home. They loved to entertain family members, and family and friends greatly enjoyed their hospitality. Alice and Ralph retired from the working force in 1981. During their remaining years they traveled to Hawaii and throughout the United States. Ralph died on September 20, 1998. Alice stayed in her home until 2007 when she sold her home and moved to the Bishop Spencer Place. She passed away at the age of 92 on September 17, 2011. Alice is survived by her relatives in Warrensburg, Missouri and Colorado. She has one surviving sister, Helen F. McCormack, and her two sons, James A. McCormack and Judy with their two daughters Jamie and Jessica and their families; and Patrick Alex and Lisa with their daughter Katie. Alice loved spending nearly her entire life in Kansas City!
