Al was born in St. Johnsbury, VT to Gertrude (Whipple) and Edward Allen Lavature on February 2, 1929. He married Patricia Ann White in California and together they had 3 children, Allene, Richard, and Robin. After his first marriage ended, Al remarried to a wonderful lady named Elaine and added 2 step-children to his family, Tom and Donna.
He worked for Driftwood Dairy in California. After he left California, he went to work as a Vice President for McCarty Truck Lines of Trenton, MO until 1975. In 1975, Al went to work for Yellow Freight until his retirement.
Al was a veteran of Korea and served in the Marines.
Some of Al’s favorite pastimes included working on old hit-and-miss engines and he also was a talented woodworker.
Al is preceded in death by both of his parents; seven siblings; one daughter; and his second wife. He leaves behind his three sons; one daughter; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
