

Alva Dennis Eason was born October 30, 1931 and went to be with his beloved Savior on July 29, 2014. He graduated from high school in Kansas City, Kansas in 1951, and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952. He served during the Korean War as an Airman 2nd Class, and was discharged in 1954. Al married his wife, Phyllis, in 1961, and they were married for over 52 years.
He was an active member at Overland Park Baptist Church for many years and also worked as an accountant there for 14 years. More recently, he was a member of Southland Baptist Church in Belton, Missouri. Al loved playing golf and other sports, listening to gospel music, and spending time with family. Most of all, he loved Jesus Christ, and strove to be a godly example of God’s love to everyone he met.
Al was preceded in death by his father, Alva H. Eason; his mother, Alice Edgington Eason; his stepmother Edna Eason; and his brother Vernon Eason. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Eason; his daughter Rachel Luckel and son-in-law Shelby Luckel; and grandchildren Jon Luckel, Nelson Luckel, Dayana Luckel, and Stefany Luckel; and many friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 2, at Southland Baptist Church, 16205 Vicie in Belton, Missouri. Burial will be held in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the missions fund at Southland Baptist Church, 16205 Vicie, Belton, Missouri 64012.
