She was born in Ada, Oklahoma on December 17,1935 to Andrew Jacob Salmon and Olive Dale Salmon. She spent her early childhood in Coalgate Oklahoma and had many wonderful childhood memories of these early years. As a teenager, her family moved to Kansas City, MO where she attended Central High School and was a member of the Slache Literary Society.
This is where she met and soon married the love of her life, C. Leroy Cundiff on June 14, 1954. She was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank for a short time before having four children and embracing the career of full-time Mom. The young family moved to Raytown where life was filled with activities, family and friends. She served as a Camp Fire Girl leader for many years and loved sharing adventures with “her girls”. She could always be counted on to be the scorekeeper for the boys’ baseball games.
A lifelong Methodist, she was an active member of Countryside Methodist Church in Raytown and after moving to Lee’s Summit, became a member of Woods Chapel Methodist.
Her love of Kansas City and history led her to help found KC Tour Guides and for many years she introduced visitors from around the world to all the wonderful sights and stories of the city.
