

She was born on April 23, 1930, to Calixto (Charlie) Lopez and Rita Lopez-Gonzalez. Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin Garcia; and all of her siblings and their spouses, brother, Ladislao (Larry) and his wife, Josephine Lopez; brother, Robert and his wife, Jovita Lopez; brother, Rodolfo (Rudy) and his wife, Isabel (Ish) Lopez; brother, Arthur Manuel and his wife, Mary Lopez; brother, Alfonso (Al) and his wife, Ruth Lopez; sister, Jovita Lopez; brother, Fernando Lopez; and twin brother and sister, Alfredo Lopez and Mary de la Luz (Mary Lou) Lopez.
Angie grew up in the Argentine community of Kansas City, Kansas. She attended elementary school at St. Thomas Catholic School and graduated from Argentine High School. Angie was employed as office support staff for Fuller Brush Company from 1948-1975. Her family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, after the flood of 1951, where they joined Our Lady of Good Counsel parish. Angie was employed by Sutherland Lumber Company as a comptometer operator from 1975 - 1992, at which time she retired.
After postponing their marriage for decades due to family obligations and circumstances, Angie and Martin finally married later in life on October 29, 1988. They lived in Gladstone, Missouri, where they were active parishioners of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. Angie and Martin loved music, dancing, travel, the Kansas City Royals, and family functions, where Angie would often show up with a pan of her famous and delicious enchiladas.
Angie leaves behind many godchildren and several generations of nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Angie was actively involved in the lives of her godchildren, nieces, and nephews. She lovingly and wholeheartedly attended countless birthday parties, dance performances, athletic events, graduations, bridal showers, weddings, and baby showers. For most of her life, Angie was a very generous financial supporter of numerous Catholic, children's, and animal charities.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Archangel Parish, located at 4737 N. Cleveland Ave., Kansas City, MO, 64117. Following the visitation, a Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. also at St Gabriel Parish. The committal service is scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Dr., Kansas City, MO, 64156. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Angie's honor and memory to St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church
Angie had a huge heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
