Anna Margaret Shaw Shatzer

Ann, “Ma” Shatzer, 85, Leawood, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2011 surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, at Overland Park Baptist Temple, 11648 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas 66201, officiated by her grandson. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Ann was born August 7, 1926 in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of William A. and Mary E. (McGee) Shaw. She graduated from Bishop Ward High School. Ann worked at Wilson Meat Packing and Kuhlman Diecast Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, William H. Shatzer and her brother William A. Shaw, Jr. Ann leaves behind her son William L. Shatzer and his wife Shelley; three grandchildren Katie and Mark Breaux, Amy Shatzer and Ryan,, and Sarah and Adam Brennan; great-granddaughter Madelyn Ann Breaux; niece, and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her dear friend Evelyn Bibens of Oklahoma, and her sister-in-law Jeanette Shaw. Ann was a generous lady who was known for her kind, loving, and selfless spirit.
