All those who knew and loved her can only be comforted by knowing for certain that she has arrived in heaven where her earthly suffering is over and her eternal life has begun with the God she loves. As 1 Corinthians 2:9 assures us, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Anne was born January 1, 1942, in Tunis, Tunisia, to Gaspari and Apolonia Bonura. She had one brother Claudio (Jesse) Bonura (deceased). They immigrated to the United States in 1947 where, a few years later, they went through the process of becoming legal citizens.
In 1975, Anne married Robert Gingrich and settled in Overland Park. She enjoyed a successful and productive career in the travel business which provided Anne and Bob the opportunity to enjoy many years of travel and relaxation, especially travel to La Jolla, CA, their favorite vacation spot where they spent countless hours relaxing on the La Jolla Shores beach. Anne had a passion for her family, painting and gardening.
Anne is survived by her husband Bob of the home; one daughter Lindsay Anthony and husband Terry of Overland Park; Robert Gingrich, Jr. and wife Melisa of Dallas, Texas; James Gingrich and wife Becky of San Diego, California; John Gingrich, San Diego, California; Tim Gingrich of Kansas City, and nine grandchildren: Carmen, Chris, Bryan, and Jake Anthony; Corey, Jack, Sam, Gabriella Gingrich, and Jennifer Brown, and three great-grandchildren - Ella, Anabelle, and Bryson Anthony.
A memorial service will be held for Anne Gingrich Sunday, June 23 at 2:30 p.m. The service will be held at Grace Church located on the southwest corner of 103rd and Antioch Road in Overland Park.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in her name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5028. MSK is a cancer research center the family has supported for a number of years.
