He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 14, 1925, Tony lived a full and inspiring life marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his craft.
Tony graduated from Dowling High School in 1943 and answered the call to serve his country during World War II. As a staff sergeant and nose-gunner on a B-24 Liberator bomber in the Air Force, he displayed immense courage, earning the Air Medal for heroism and three Oak Leaf Clusters.
After the war, Tony returned home and married the love of his life, Genevieve Bonanno, on April 11, 1948. Together, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1964, building a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless homemade pizzas.
Tony worked for 37 years as a warehouse manager at Ford Motor Company, where his leadership and work ethic earned the respect of all who knew him. He was a skilled craftsman, dedicating his free time to gardening, cooking, woodworking, and landscaping. He was also an accomplished musician, playing both the trumpet and harmonica.
A devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Sabina Catholic Church, Tony lived a life of faith and service. He brought kindness, humor, and patience to every interaction, serving as a role model and inspiration to his loved ones.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 76 years, Gen Leo, his children Anthony "Tony" Leo Jr., John "Josh" Leo, Robert "Bob" Leo, Thomas Leo, and Rosanne (Leo) Hoover along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.
Tony took great joy in family gatherings, particularly his tradition of hosting pizza nights followed by spirited card games, where his playful banter and humor shone through.

A rosary for Tony will be held Monday, January 20, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Sabina Parish, 700 Trevis Ave, Belton, Missouri 64012. A visitation will occur Monday, January 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 700 Trevis Ave, Belton, Missouri 64012. A catholic funeral mass with Full Military Honors will occur Monday, January 20, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 700 Trevis Ave, Belton, Missouri 64012 followed by a meal at the church fellowship hall.
