

Antons Zeps, 102, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully at home March 11, 2015, surrounded by his family. Per Antons request no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice 1001 E 101st Terr., Suite #180, Kansas City, MO 64131.
Antons was born on February 24, 1913 in Barkava, Latvia to Ignats and Klara (Tomins) Zeps. He was one of eight children. He married Elza Berkis on September 14, 1941 and together established a dairy farm in Prauliena, Latvia. He proudly served in the Latvian National Guard. Together they immigrated to the U.S. in 1949 and resided in Springfield, MO; later moving to Kansas City in 1951 where he worked for Riverside Creamery. He took a position with the Good Samaritan Society in 1963 and eventually moved his family to Auburn, Nebraska. He belonged to the Auburn Rotary Club and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He retired at the age of 67 in 1980 and he and Elza moved back to Kansas City in 1987. Antons loved spending time with his wife of 74 years, Elza, and his family. He enjoyed his time outside, gardening and doing yard work; he had a great love for animals of all kind. His very favorite pastime was KC Royals baseball whether it was listening to the broadcasts or attending games.
Antons is preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Elza; his daughter, Anita Rivera; two grandsons, Ryan and Andrew (Rachel) Rivera, and two great grandchildren, Noah and Gracie.
