Barbara Delane Brotherton, 70, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away February 16, 2010. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri 64131 or to any of the local Animal Rescue organizations. Barbara was born on March 1, 1939 to George and Mary Delane (Eliot) Trocosso. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Barbara worked for both the Safeway and Food Barn Grocery Stores for over 22 years. Barbara was an animal lover and rescued many Chihuahuas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Barbara is survived by her daughter Sherri Lofton and her husband Guy; son Dale Brotherton and his wife Carole; son Richard L. Brotherton; fiancé Don Dunlap; grandchildren Shelly Brotherton, Mark Kincaid, Collin Beck and Jimmy Brotherton; sister Mary Anne Tripp and her husband Alan; and sister Jacqueline Roberts. Barbara will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Arrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO.
