Barbara attended Shawnee Mission High School and graduated valedictorian in 1949. Shortly after graduating she worked at Southwestern Bell. There she met her husband, Robert Courtney and they were married for 43 years.
She spent most of her working career as Kansas City’s first car saleswoman working at Ketchum Oldsmobile in Independence, MO.
Barbara leaves behind 5 children; Thomas Wilcox (Kathy) of Woodstock, GA, Nancy Huett (Rob) of Independence, MO, Tracy Rogers (Kevin) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Jim Courtney of Kansas City, MO and Shelley Morales of Norborne, MO. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed.
