Barbara Sue (Allen) Kaiser, 91, Raymore, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, while surrounded by her children. Barbara was born on May 9, 1934 in Brookfield, MO to Roy Franklin and Dorothy Helen (Johnson) Allen.
Barbara primarily grew up in Carrollton, MO and later attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO, where she met her husband, Will Kaiser. After leaving college, Barbara moved to Kansas City in 1954 to work at Cities Service, which she often recalled fondly. Barbara and Will married June 4, 1955 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage before Will passed away in 2010. Barbara and Will loved to travel and lived in Germany, which allowed them to travel around Europe in their VW bug. They also lived and worked in Allentown, PA before settling in Grandview, MO. They were decades long residents of Grandview. and spent many years traveling in their RV. In recent years, Barbara was an active member at the View where she could be found in the pool every morning.
She also enjoyed a great number of friends and neighbors in Grandview and loved the town. Barbara continued to fulfill her love of travel after Will's passing with family, especially the many trips to Branson, visiting Dallas and a first-time trip to Portland, among other destinations. In 2023, she moved to Benton House of Raymore where she quickly made friends and the sentiment was mutual as evidenced in the last few months of her life.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends she loved so much. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Kaiser) Zimmerman, Kansas City, MO, and son Lee and wife Michele Kaiser, Nashville, TN. Her treasured grandchildren include Alyssa Thompson (HB) and Taylor Zimmerman and grandsons Samuel Kaiser (Tyler Whitehead) and John Kaiser. Barbara was also over the moon about her great-grandsons, 2-year-old Dru Thompson and newly born Rett Thompson. Barbara also held a space in her heart for her niece and nephews and their spouses, Donna and Ronnie Olvera, Jeff and Joyce Allen and David and Deana Allen, and their families.
A casual service will be held in May at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville where Barbara will be placed with Will in the columbarium wall.
