Barbara Lee Markway

Barbara was born on September 13th, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri to Edward and Zora Ryan. She graduated with a diploma from Paseo High School.

In 1955, Barbara married her first husband, Boyce S. Carson. From this marriage came her first two children, Boyce and Lorinda. Their marriage continued until 1968.

In 1972, Barbara married James A. Markway and had her second daughter Katherine.

After retirement, she moved to Dade City, FL and then relocated to Walpole, MA. Barbara enjoyed reading, staying up to date with current events, shopping, trying new recipes and most importantly spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edward Ryan, and her husband James.

She is survived by her son; Boyce Carson (Patty) of Belton MO, daughters Lorinda Scott (Stephen) of Louisburg, KS and Katherine Samargedlis (Eric) of Walpole, MA, grandchildren; Amy Hunter (Kevin), Stephen Scott II (Victoria), Matthew Samargedlis, Samantha Samargedlis, Frank Samargedlis, great-grandchildren; Ashlyn Hunter, Preston Hunter, Jade Scott and Drew Scott, and of course her beloved granddogs, Padme, Zoey and Reece.

A visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO, 64133, on September 19, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A graveside service will follow at the same location from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
