Barcia Ann Miller

Barcia A. (Hutchings) Miller, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at age 79. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 29th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 30th, 1:00 p.m., at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS, with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS, 66208.

Barcia was born December 2, 1932 in Kansas City, MO, to Harland B. Hutchings and Vernita R. Hutchings. She graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy and Avila University. She was a loving mother and best friend. Barcia expressed her creativity with her oil paintings, watercolors, and hand-hooked wool rugs.

Barcia was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert S. Hutchings and William A. Hutchings. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Barbara E. Coddington of Kansas City; her daughter, Delaine M. Miller, of Overland Park, KS; her son, Lawrence G. Miller of Overland Park, KS; and granddaughter Brittany A. Miller of Redwood City, CA.

Barcia will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to her caregivers and staff at Garden Terrace.
