Basil W. Asby

Basil "Pappaw" Asby, 89, of Gladstone, MO passed away June 6, 2013. Funeral services are 10:00 am Monday June 10th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation 4:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Basil's name to NorthCare Hospice House or VFW Post 5606, Kansas City, Mo.

Basil was born May 27, 1924 in Pensacola, OK. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 52nd Ordinance Company on Guadalcanal. He was a Photo Engraver until his retirement in 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bonita Sue Asby. His legacy includes 5 surviving children, Ronald W. Asby (Lynda 1), Judith K. Asby, David L. Asby (Lynda 2), Rebecca S. Milner, Timothy B. Asby (Lori), 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
