Bernice E. (Young) Lawrence, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away October 8, 2010. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Interment in Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bernice was born January 27, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Harmon and Jessie (Cleaton) Young. Bernice attended Ruskin High School and later married Jim Lawrence in 1947. Bernice and Jim had two sons, Mike and Bill Lawrence. Bernice worked for the IRS, and she retired in 1993. Bernice is preceded in death by her son, Mike Lawrence. She is survived by her husband, Jim Lawrence, son Bill Lawrence, sister Betty Trotter, daughter-in-law Jackie Lawrence, daughter-in-law Carol Lehman, daughter-in-law Rene` Lawrence, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
