Betty J. McNeill, age 87, of Edwardsville, Illinois, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri died at 9:12 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Illinois. She worked as a branch manager for the General Service Administration in Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement in 1989. Betty was born on May 17, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Jacob and Roby Arn. She married Walter G. Ciurej, he died in World War II. She later married James J. McNeill, he preceded her in death on July 5, 1984. Betty is survived by one son Wally McNeill and wife Dee Dee of Edwardsville, Illinois; one grandson Christopher McNeill and wife Alisa of Overland Park, Kansas; three great-granddaughters Molly, Lilly and Cami McNeill and a sister Sue Sanders of Overland Park, Kansas. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. followed by funeral service on Tuesday, January 11, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South.
