Betty was born January 25, 1935 to Clarence G. and Alice J (Westover) Myers in Junction City, KS. She grew up in Junction City, where she met the love of her life, Richard Peterson. Together, they spent 65 years married, traveling around the world while Richard was in the Air Force. Finally, they retired to the Lee's Summit area.
Betty is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Lucinda Spencer, Lorraine Goppert, Richard B. Peterson, and Susan Greenway; grandchildren, Jeremy, Kristina, Megan, Stephanie, Katie, Amy, Markie, Charlijean; and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 9:00am on Monday, November 26 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, followed by Funeral Services at 10:00. Burial will be at Ft. Riley Cemetery at 2:00pm.
