

Joann graduated from Grant City High School in 1951. After high school she met and married Joe and enjoyed 33 years of marriage until his death in 1988. The first 9 years of their marriage they lived in 14 different states travelling from state-to-state pulling a 52’ mobile home while Joe worked construction building highways and military runways. They settled in south Kansas City, MO with the purchase of their first home on Blue Ridge Boulevard near Martin City in 1964. Joann began her career in 1980, after her children were grown, as a unit secretary at Research Hospital. In 1984 she transferred to the new Research Belton Hospital where she retired after 32 years.
Her most memorable trip of her lifetime was to the Holy Land in 1995 where she had the most blessed experience of being baptized in the Jordan River. “It was THE most fantastic day with which nothing can be compared.”
Joann is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Wilkinson and Ruth Craven Wilkinson; her husband Joe Pritchett, and sister Mary Weyers. She is survived by her children Jody Shaw (Willie) of Belton, MO, Marty Pritchett (Sherri) of Warsaw, MO, and Melody Pritchett Schapker of Fairway, KS; seven grandchildren: David Joe Pritchett (Paula) of Belton MO, Darcie Gray (Richard) of Raymore, MO, Angela Smith of Peculiar, MO, Doranda Bell (Kenneth) of Kansas City, MO, Kayla Hicks (Josh) of Collins, MO, Eric DeCavele (Abrielle) of Louisburg, KS, DeAnna Shaw (fiancé David Caldwell) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Taylor Scrivner (Trisha) of Pleasant Hill, MO and Mason Pritchett (Katie) of Peculiar, MO; nineteen great-grandchildren: Paris Smith, Owen Hicks, Samaya Bell, Preslee Smith, Aden Hicks, Erika Gray, KJ Bell, Alyssa Shaw, Emery DeCavele, Jada Bell, Avery Shaw, Daedric Gray, Eli DeCavele, Jedediah “Jed” Hicks, Maverick “Mav” Hicks, Rylee Pritchett, Einsley Scrivner, and Elliana “Ellie” Scrivner; sisters Donna Head (California) and Ione Brannon (Peculiar, MO); and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
