

She was born August 17, 1938, in Smithton, Missouri. She was the daughter of Ernest O. and Virgina M. (Lamm) Schlobohm. She graduated from Smith Cotton High School, Sedalia, MO, Class of 1956. Later she attended Longview Community College and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree.
She spent most of her career working for Western Electric later known as AT&T. During her years working at AT&T she was a member of the Quality Work Life and also had fun participating in the Pioneers, where at special events she would dress as a pioneer woman. While at work, she met her future husband. William S. Rezin and Betty were married on October 11, 1980, at Unity Village, Lees Summit, MO.
In her early days, she loved to participate with her son's little league baseball teams and keep score for the teams. She also was a Cub Scout den mother. In her retirement days, she loved being a part of the Red Hat Club where several of her close friends wore red hats and purple outfits to attend a lunch outing. Betty was an avid member of The Summit Church and loved attending every weekend and was involved with the church to deliver summer kids lunches and she helped with several other events.
Betty loved traveling in the U.S and abroad, actually traveled to 28 countries. She also was a season ticket member and loved to attend Starlight Theatre and New Dinner Theatre productions. She also loved to attend anything her grandkids or great grandkids were involved in, soccer, baseball, softball, football games or a theatre performance.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Ernest & Virgina Schlobohm, her brothers Wesley Gene and Bobby Lee Schlobohm, and her sister, Doris (Schlobohm) Maggi.
She is survived by her loving devoted husband of 44 years, Bill (William S as she would call him); her son Jeff (Tracey) Kraus; her cherished grandchildren, Kavan (Danielle) Kraus, Erin (Kraus) (Austin) Bruening; Great-grandchildren: Lyric, Eleanor, Ada and Lukas Kraus, Gracelynn and Nolan Bruening.
Bonus Daughter's: Sandra (Rezin) (John) Vestal, Karrie (Rezin) (Tim) Ciafullo; Bonus grandchildren: Ashley (Vestal) (Keegan) Simpson; Melissa and Scott Vestal, Brett, Larissa and Kailey Ciafullo. Bonus great-grandchildren: Cooper and Hayden Simpson.
Siblings: JD (Carol) Schlobohm, David (Joyce) Schlobohm, Marion (Elaine) Schlobohm, Judie (Schlobohm) Hinton and Lynda (Schlobohm) Maloney. As well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Betty truly loved all of her family and gave the best hugs & back scratches anyone could ask for.
A visitation will be held at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, KC MO 64133, on August 29, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10 am. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 10:00 am to 11:00 am
A graveside service will take place at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Highway 50, Lees Summit, MO 64086 from 11:30 to 12:00 pm.
Pallbearers: Jeff Kraus, Kavan Kraus, Austin Bruening, Brett Ciafullo, Scott Vestal and Keegan Simpson.
