

Beverly Jo Hembree, 88, passed away December 14, 2023 at her home at The Parkway Senior Living in Blue Springs, MO. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Floral Hills Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Garden.
Beverly was born January 13, 1935 in Hale, Missouri. Her family moved to the Kansas City area in 1941. On September 23, 1955, she married Arthur Hembree. She was a stay-at-home mom, raising her two sons when she was blessed with her special needs daughter, Sandy. She was also actively involved in many school activities with her children and grandchildren including Boy Scouts, PTA and hosting AFS students. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Max and Virginia Turner, her husband, Arthur H. Hembree and her precious daughter, Sandra Jo Hembree.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Brad and Katie Hembree of Oak Grove, MO.; son Donald Hembree of Kansas City, MO.; grandchildren Jacob Hembree, Jeffrey Hembree and his wife JoyMarie, and Jennifer Reed and her husband Patrick, 4 great-grandchildren, Laurynn Hembree, Rose Reed, Henry Reed and Mason Hembree. She also leaves her sister Edie deFreese and her husband Jack of Broken Arrow, OK and her brother Terry Turner and his wife Judy of Overland Park, KS along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a long- time member of the Church of Christ and was well known for the beautiful quilts she made. She enjoyed calling the numbers for bingo and visiting with residents at The Parkway Senior Living facility where she had been a resident since 2015.
The family suggest contributions to Alzheimer’s Association or United Cerebral Palsy.
A visitation for Beverly will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A graveside service will occur Friday, December 22, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
