Billy G. Inman 92, of Greenwood, MO, passed away on February 4, 2022. He was born on October 22, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Ralph Emerson and Loraine Elena Phipps Inman.
Bill grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Central High School in 1947. He attended Kansas City College of Commerce 1949-1951. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy as a Photographer's Mate during the Korean Conflict. Bill retired from Eastman Kodak after 38 years. Photography was one of his hobbies.
He was a past member of the Lee's Summit Jaycees, served on the Jackson County Fair Board and held a private pilot's license. He would always "rather be flying" in his Cessna 3728 Delta. A quote from Leonardo da Vinci - "once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you always long to return." He enjoyed CB radios during their popularity and used the handle "Fly Boy." Bill was very energetic and was always working on a project. He enjoyed his 10 acres on Smart Road - called Inman Place.
Survivors are his wife, Zelma M. Heinrich Inman of 56 years; daughter, Suzanne Inman; son Philip Inman and wife Tracy (his other daughter) and his grandson, Ethan Inman.
He is also survived by his sister Donna Cooper and many dear friends.
Bill was a member of the Church of Christ.
Preceded by his parents and brothers Myron, Gordon, and Rolland Inman.
