

Billy “Bill” Masaharu Saito, 92, passed away on December 3, 2012 at home in Overland Park, KS. Private Graveside services will be held at a later date. Bill was born February 9, 1920 in Portland, Oregon to Tori Ono Saito and Heihichi Saito. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Tori and Heihichi Saito, and Mariye Morimoto Saito, his wife of 56 years. He is survived by sister Toki Murakami (Harry), Harry, nephew Gregg Murakami and niece, Laura Kono, brother , Tosh Saito (Cindy),all of California, nephew Greg Ono (Janie), nephews Andrew Ono and David Ono, Kansas City, MO, and niece Cherill Ono Swafford (Ernie), California. Before retiring to Kansas City, Bill worked in Chicago, North Carolina, Maryland and Georgia. He proudly served in the Army, Military Intelligence Service. Recently he was acknowledged for his service with the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian honor for serving in one of the first units that were comprised of soldiers from Japanese Internment Camps.
