Schulze ACS Hope Lodge in Rochester, MN where Bob stayed during his treatments at Mayo Clinic.
Bob was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1951 to Marge and Jim Giguere in Muscatine, Iowa. Bob was the second of their five children. After a short time in Muscatine the family moved to St. Joe and then to Kansas City, MO where Bob attended St. Elizabeth's through eighth grade. He then went on to attend and graduate from Rockhurst High School where he was a National Merit Scholar, played football and met Rosie Molinari, a St. Teresa's student who Bob would soon discover was the love of his life. Bob left for college in Beloit, Wisconsin on his own but then came back to KC to marry Rosie on April 20, 1974. He graduated from Beloit College in 1975 at which time Bob and Rosie moved back to the Kansas City area to start their married life together. Although Bob only taught history (Battle of Hastings - 1066!) and economics for one year at Notre Dame de Sion in KCMO, he was committed to being a lifelong teacher and educator of all those around him - whether they asked for it or not. After teaching, Bob held various positions while he and Rosie started their family. Their three children - Nicole, Christopher and Patrick - were all born in Kansas City. In 1985 Bob and his family moved to Marion, IN where Bob followed in the footsteps of his father's creation and began what would be his lifelong career in the dry corn milling industry. In 1998, Bob and family relocated to Western Iowa where he put his passion to work in building a new dry corn mill in Glidden while the family settled into life in Carroll. Bob could not be prouder of the success of Iowa Corn Processors and the amazing team of managers and staff that helped to make his visions a reality.
Bob was passionate about many things - first and foremost his were wife and family. He also loved reading, history, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, talking, cycling, cooking, keeping his kitchen knives sharp, talking, traveling, debating, getting "tickets" from his kids and grandkids, beer, whiskey, pheasant hunting with Bentley, and talking. Bob will be remembered as a leader, a mentor, and an educator. He was gentle, loving, passionate and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Rosie (Molinari), his daughter Nicole, his two sons Christopher (Bree) and Patrick (Kelly), and his five grandchildren, Anthony, Regan, Tristan, Finley, and Lincoln, to whom he was known as Poppi Bob. He is also survived by his parents Margery (Poole) and Jim Giguere, and his four siblings Beth (Rusty), Paul (Betsy), Mary (David), and Ann (David). He is both preceded and survived by numerous loving family members and friends.
