

Carrol E. Kemper, Jr, 88, Kansas City North, passed away April 17, 2011 at Sweet Life of Shawnee. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 20th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland, burial in Resurrection Cemetery North. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Carrol was born November 2, 1922 in Kidder, MO. He was raised in Cameron, MO and served in World War II as a LT. (JG) in the navy. He married Mary Frances Murray on April 7, 1947. They moved to Kansas City in 1952. Carrol was a founding member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. He was a registered Professional Engineer who spent his career in the heating and air conditioning industry. After World War II he worked for the A.J. Harton Co in St. Joseph, MO. In 1949 he joined Temperature Engineering Co in Kansas City. From 1959 until his retirement in 1983 he was a co-owner of Bill Fagan, Inc., and served as president from 1976-1982. He was a longtime member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers. Carrol loved his family and was a devoted and active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances in 1982, and twin children, William and Judith in 1960, and a sister, Lois Stone.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Jo Anne (Ken) Karr, Kathy (Marvin) Teson, Mary Pat (John) DeStefano, and Lynn (Ben) Pettus; 17 grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Karr, Sarah (Jason) Roberts, Jennifer (Jake) Fuller, Scott (Suzanne) Teson, Katie (Michael) Wells, Brian (Kelli) Teson, Chris Teson, David Teson, Johnny DeStefano, Annie (York) Yates, Melissa DeStefano, Emily DeStefano, Michael DeStefano, Elizabeth DeStefano, Amy Pettus, Erin Pettus, and B.J.
