She was the daughter of George D. and Bessie (Anastasiou) Sallas. She worked as an accountant for Ireland Insurance Company, retiring in 1982. She was a faithful member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she was active in VIP and Ladies Philoptochos Society. She was an excellent cross stitcher, and enjoyed scrap booking, reading, and crossword puzzles. She loved shopping with her nieces, teaching them her family recipes, and sharing stories of her world travels over 3 o’clock coffee.
Her mission in life was to love and care for her extended family and friends. She will be remembered most for how kind and caring she was. From taking friends to church every Sunday, to volunteering in the church library, to remembering every family and friend’s birthday, she was known for putting others first.
She is survived by her nephew, George Sallas and wife, Laurie and their children, Katie and Melanie Sallas.
Visitation 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 28 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri with a Trisagion Service at 5:30 pm. Funeral Service 10:00 am on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Christian Church, 12001 Wornall Road. Kansas City, Missouri with burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
