Charlie held a deep and abiding love for his family, God and his country. As a faithful husband of 70 years to Bea Francis, he also served as an amazing role model to four children: Carla Cooper (predeceased), Paul (predeceased), Dave (Overland Park, Kansas) and Steve (Stanley, Kansas), as well as 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Charlie joyfully, tirelessly and generously served those people and organizations that God placed in his life with his time, talents and treasures. His accomplishments were many: a successful 32-year career with IBM, a Chiefs Red Coater who attended the 1st & 4th Super Bowls, a founding member of Leawood Baptist Church, a long-time board member of the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a WWII Navy veteran.
Charlie’s warm, welcoming smile, never-met-a-stranger personality and servant’s heart will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life and Visitation Luncheon will be held at Leawood Baptist Church at 83rd & State Line on Wednesday, November 22nd at 11:00AM. A Committal Service will take place following at 2:00PM at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
