So God made Charles Staples.
Most obituaries talk about a person's career achievements, hobbies, and interests, but those things don't portray the "Who" of the man.
Charles accomplished much in his career at the Kansas City Public Works Department. He worked his way up to Worshipful Master of Sheffield Lodge AF & AM. As a young man, he took great pride in working the pit crew at the Riverside Racetrack and was well read in a wide variety of literature genres.
However, the most important aspects and attributes of Charles were his faith in God and his utter devotion to his family - whether they were "blood" or not. He was quiet for the majority of his time, but this quietness was also his great strength. When he did speak, it was to guide and support in his steadfast way, with complete unselfishness, giving his best for those he loved.
He leaves behind a Living Legacy in his daughters, Cheri, Mellanie, and Michele; his best friend and only son, Stephen; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will all do our very best to stand in representation of the effort and love he poured into us .... Until we see him again.
A visitation for Charles will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
