Charlotte Jones Zachman

Charlotte Jones Zachman, 85, Prairie Village, formerly of Mission Hills, Palm Springs, CA and Naples, FL, passed away April 24, 2017. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway. Deeply loved by her devoted husband of 63 years, Eugene P. Zachman, and her four children, Charlotte was a graduate of Southwest High School (’49) and the University of Missouri, Columbia (’54) where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta. A BOTAR in ’53, Charlotte was also a member of the Circle 12 at Country Club Christian Church and the Symphony League, serving as President in 1988. She belonged to Mission Hills Country Club, the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club, the Janet Boone Service Club and Daughters of the American Revolution – Westport Chapter. She was also an active supporter of the Naples Philharmonic, the McCallum Theatre of Palm Springs, the Grand Lake, Colorado, Repertory Theater, the YMCA of the Rockies and the Grand Lake Yacht Club and The Grand Lake Yacht Club Sailing Foundation. Formerly a Music Instructor at Corinth Downs Elementary, Charlotte was a champion of all things art, a world traveler, she thrived on making new friends and bringing joy to people’s lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents W. Ralph and Charlotte O. Jones. Charlotte is survived by her husband Eugene P. Zachman, brother Ronald F. Jones, children Eugene Ralph Zachman, Ann Zachman Wilbur, James Alan Zachman, Janet Zachman Turney and nine grandchildren.Arrangements under the direction of Mt Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO.
