Christopher Munn

Christopher Ryan Munn, 30, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 1 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel, with burial following in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Gregory's Retreat Center, 601 2nd Street, Bayard, IA 50029.

I was born September 30, 1980 to Bruce and Janis Munn. I grew up in Overland Park with my older brother, Jason, and sister, Melissa. I lost baby status in the family when my younger brother Brent was born. I graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 1999. I always loved cooking. My brother, Brent, and I even catered some events together. It was then that I decided to go get my culinary degree. My favorite job was Executive Chef at St. Gregory's Retreat Center in Bayard, Iowa. Not only did I prepare great meals for folks, I helped feed their souls.

I have joined Grandpa Bill, Grandpa Sam, my brother, Jason and my Great-Grandparents in heaven. I really loved my Grandma Esther and my Grandma Pat, and I look forward to seeing all my family again, especially Brett, who was more like a brother than a cousin. Can't wait for the whole family to get here, we'll have a huge cookout. Dad, you catch the fish, I'll cook 'em, you should see the size of this kitchen.
