Dr. Christopher M. Ottinger Sr.

Dr. Christopher Mark Ottinger Sr., 47, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away January 30, 2011, at home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Christopher M. Ottinger's Childrens' Education Fund at Commerce Bank, Attn: Patty LaMarr, 11405 Nall Avenue, Leawood, Kansas 66211, make checks payable to Jill Ottinger. Christopher was born February 20, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Cure of Ars School, Rockhurst High School and graduated from Creighton University, Cum Laude. He graduated from The University of Kansas Medical School and Family Practice program. In 1989 he married Jill Cross. He was a Major in U.S. Army Reserves in the Field Hospital Unit. Dr. Ottinger practiced medicine at Blue Ridge Clinic, Encompass Medical Group, Pure Health Medical, Preceptor of KU Medical students, Hospice Care of Kansas City, Sunflower Healthcare Hospice, and OncImmune. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Knights of Columbus, and Boy Scouts of America. He was an Eagle Scout and was voted Super Doc of the Year in 2007. He is survived by his wife Jill Ottinger, his four children Stephanie, Christopher Jr., Amanda and Alexander Ottinger, parents Curt, Sr. and Ceil Ottinger, and brother Curt Ottinger Jr. Condolences may be made at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.
