Cinda S. Williams (59) of Overland Park passed away on April 20 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brave struggle with cancer. She was born in Fukuoka, Japan and spent her early childhood living in Japan and Africa. She spent the rest of her life in Overland Park but enjoyed travel to exotic locales, tennis, golf, KU basketball and cheering on her nephews.
Cinda was part of the sales team for Johnsonville for 15 years in Kansas City, and had a large part in developing the brand in this area to its #1 position. As a teammate, her commitment, energy, and quest for learning were exceptional. As a friend, she was even more. No matter what the situation, she was full of optimism, care, and thoughtfulness.
Cinda leaves behind a cherished group of friends, several of whom she has known since grade school. Cinda was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Will Williams. She leaves behind her brother, Craig Williams (Fairway), her sister, Pamela Williams (Overland Park), stepbrother, Lawrence Jones and wife Carol (Bayou Vista, TX), her beloved nephews and niece Wes, Erik and Craig Meixelsperger, Nathan Jones and Betsy Barnes, an aunt Jeanne Morey, her Kansas and Texas cousins and her dog Max.
Cinda will be remembered by so many for such a variety of reasons but everyone who knew and supported her through her recent illness will remain touched forever by her grace, her indomitable spirit and her incredible courage.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10 at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes at 11:00 am followed by the burial. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Wreaths Across America. Condolences may be offered at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.
