

Conrad Ernest Stanley, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 4th, 2011. Con was born July 31st, 1925 to Birger and Ebba (Olson) Stanley. After graduating from Northeast High School he served our country in World War II as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps as a B-17 and B-24 pilot. He worked with his father as a cabinet maker at Midwest Cabinet before opening Stanley Innerworks in 1972. He designed and manufactured custom fixtures and interiors for major banks, restaurants and department stores in Kansas City and beyond. In 1991 he received the Craftsmanship Award for Woodwork from the American Institute of Architects for his work at the American Restaurant, Crown Center. He was an active member and past chairman of the Cabinet Makers joint apprenticeship program. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and entertaining his family and many friends at Lake Lotawana. He will be remembered for his playful sense of humor and determination to bring a smile to all he met. We love you, Dad! He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sarah Jane (Cunningham) Stanley; his daughters Diane Dahlstedt (Ralph), Nancy Stanley, and Carol Meads (Mark); his grandchildren Natalie and Erik Jones, and Matthew and Allison Meads; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service Thursday, September 8th, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
