Cory James Kauffman

Cory James Kauffman, 39, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 15th, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 Monday, March 20th at Redemptorist Catholic Church, 3333 Broadway, Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4- 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 19th at McGilley State Line Chapel.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Margaret Kauffman Educational Fund or to Solace House in Kansas City.

Cory was born on March 4th, 1978 in Waukegan, Illinois. Cory attended Raymore Peculiar High School. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Tampa where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Cory worked for Allstate Insurance as a Claims Service Leader. He was an active member of the Greater Kansas City Claims Association and served as its President for two years.

In 2011 Cory married the love of his life, Tricia, and they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Margaret Pearl, in 2014. Cory was a lifelong Royals fan, an avid tennis player, and he loved movies and traveling. But what he loved the most was spending time with his wife and daughter.

Cory was preceded in death by his father Larry Kauffman; his grandparents, Lucia and Joseph Hansen; Thomas and Joan Newell; Ewing and Muriel Kauffman.

Cory’s survivors include his wife Tricia and his daughter Margaret Pearl; his mother and step-father, Nancy and Rich DuVall; his brothers, George Kauffman, John Hansen, John Kauffman, Trevor DuVall, Spencer DuVall; his sisters Bridget DuVall and Lisa Kauffman; and many other beloved family members and friends.
