

Dale was born on August 3, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Gilbert Hayes Gladish and Lora Mae Gladish (Zeilmann) who resided in Higginsville, MO.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Lora Mae, and is survived by: His siblings Yvonne, Shellye, Larry, Greg and Tim. His wife Joyce, children Randy and Karen (Stephens), their spouses Patricia King and Jeff Stephens. Grand Children Stephen Gladish and his wife Miranda, Adam Ellis, Julie Harris (Gladish) and her husband Brian Harris, Jordan Stephens, Daniel Stephens, and Great Grand Children Mikayla Harris and Zoey Harris
He married the love of his life on February 16, 1963 and they were married for over 60 years. He was very dedicated and protective of his family and especially loved his grandchildren.
Dale graduated from Higginsville High School in 1960 where he played football all four years. During high school he also earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He also attended the National Fire Academy and earned an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science.
He retired from the Grandview Fire Department after 22 years of service. He also owned and operated D & J Fire Extinguishers, Inc. with his wife for 25 years.
He was a big fan of our home teams, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs and always watched regardless of how good or bad they were doing. He was also a supporter of our city.
He loved travelling with his wife and their friends and visited much of the country. He was especially fond of Palm Desert, California and Myrtle Beach, North Carolina. He always made time for a vacation… even when Randy and Karen begged to go to Disneyland.
He would take time out of his busy schedule to participate in father/daughter weekends with Camp Fire Girls and loved float trips with the Boy Scouts.
A visitation for Dale will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Southview Christian Church (13604 Norby Rd, Grandview, MO 64030). The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM followed by a procession to Floral Hills Memorial Gardens for the committal service (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133).
In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to Southview Christian Church, 13608 Norby Rd., Grandview, MO 64030.
