Dana was born July 9, 1947. He graduated from Van Horn High School, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and built a respected career in the housing industry, where he is known for his innovative designs and creativity.
He had a love of bass fishing with his best friends and colleagues. Dana was drawn to anything related to speed, from drag racing cars and boats to peddle-to-the metal cruising through the Ozarks…the man had no fear.
In his final weeks, he cherished time with his family, making the most of every moment and creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
Dana is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Kelley (Rinehart) Zander; his daughters, Kimberly (Zander) Carter, Whitney Butler; his son, Chad (Cierra) Butler; and his grandchildren, Emily Carter, Quinn Carter, Camden Butler and Carmen Butler; his sister, Denise Zander; and his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Wanda Zander; his sister, Diana Zander; and his brother David Zander.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Camp Barnabas, a non-profit organization serving individuals with disabilities. His granddaughter Quinn has attended Camp Barnabas for over 20 years, and this holds a special place in the family’s hearts. Contributions may be sent to Barnabas Foundation Mailing, P.O. Box 609, Branson, MO 65615, or through their website at https://campbarnabas.org/ways-to-give.
