

David W. Gordon, 71, Grandview, Missouri, passed away August 11, 2012 after fighting cancer. Friends may call 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, at the Ararat Shrine Center, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, Missouri, a memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Shrine Center. A Royal Order of Jesters Rose Ceremony will follow the memorial service. Graveside services will take place at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21 at Mount Moriah South Cemetery. Those attending the graveside services should meet at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri at 9:30 a.m. David was born March 2, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Kenneth and Mary Gordon who preceded him in death. He graduated from Grandview High School, Grandview, Missouri, in 1959. He was a sheet metal worker and later moved into material-handling sales. He was a member of Shawnee Masonic Lodge 54, Shawnee, Kansas. He was a Past Membership Chairman, Past Potentate (2008) and Past President of the Greeters Unit for the Ararat Shrine. David was also a member of the Order of Quetzlcoatl and the Royal Order of Jesters Court 54. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Gordon, of the home; son, Mark (Adrianne) Gordon, of Waterdown Ontario, Canada; daughter, Paula (Shawn) Garbe, of Broomfield, Colorado; son, Skip Gordon, of Grandview; granddaughter Kylie Gordon, of Kansas City, Missouri; grandson, Stephen Florian, of Boulder, Colorado; sisters, Barbara Wilson and Mary Beth McDonald, of Concordia, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ararat Shrine Cornerstone Fund; the Ararat Shrine Telemedicine Unit, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, Missouri, 64129; or the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri, 64105.
