David married Patty Ann Cox in 1950 and had two daughters. He always worked a lot of hours and took great pride in his accomplishments. He attempted to balance work, home, family, and leisure time. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and loved The Lake of The Ozarks, where he owned a second home. We all enjoyed a lot of good times at the Ozarks with family and friends. David enjoyed traveling. His career allowed him to visit many places in the world. He visited Hawaii, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Aruba, China, Canada, Mexico, Africa and other exotic places. Two of his passions were the Kansas City Royals and the Chiefs.
Dave married Nancy Springer February 16, 1985. They lived in Leawood, Kansas before moving to Shawnee in 2005. They traveled and spent time at the Ozarks as well. They lived happily together for 29 years. They were very rarely apart and took excellent care of each other. The companionship and love they shared was obvious to those who knew him.
After selling the Maddox Company to Tom Hayes (Hayes Insulation), he reluctantly retired in 2010 at the age of 80. He had many business partners, colleagues, and employees that will miss him very much.
