Scott was born and raised in Kansas City, MO where he attended Christ the King School and Bishop Ohara High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, going on to train as an air traffic controller. He was stationed at the naval station in Keflavik, Iceland where he made some of his fondest memories.
Upon leaving the Navy, Scott spent some time in Virginia Beach. When he returned to Kansas City, he went to work in the car business where he worked as a salesman, and later as the service manager for Sonny Hill Motors. However, Scott was never one to settle down and eventually became a jack-of-all-trades, making him a reliable friend and family member to others who would often come to him for help with various projects.
Scott found joy in his family and many friends, many of whom were lifelong. He took immense pride in his children David and Stephanie and was thrilled to welcome his first grandchild at the end of last year. He was also a proud uncle to his nephews Jonathan and Matthew, and in recent years enjoyed spending time with his great-nephews Maddox and Maclin. Scott made his second home at Flo’s Poke-a-Dot Lounge where he would often gather with friends who became like family. In his free time, Scott was also an avid bowler. For many years he bowled with his mom and dad on the Owens Corning Fiberglass team and would travel the country to compete in tournaments.
After many years of battling health complications, Scott is at rest and has been reunited with many of his loved ones who preceded him in death, especially his father, David, his mother, Mary, and his sister, Vickie.
He is survived by his son, David, his daughter, Stephanie, his grandson, Cove, his nephews, Jonathan and Matthew, and his great nephews, Maddox, and Maclin.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church (2732 Benton Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64128). The Visitation will begin at 10am with the Burial Liturgy to follow at 11am.
There will be a reception following on Thursday May 30th at 1pm at Flo's Poke-A-Dot Lounge (8934 Wornall Rd. KCMO)
