Delores Marie “Dee” Yount, 91, passed away Sept. 30th 2025. Dee was born August 18th 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas. As a small child, Dee attended a children's home with her two sisters. Once back home, she attended Wyandotte High School. In 1952, Dee met and married the love of her life Lee Yount. Dee worked in the Warford Elementary cafeteria. She then moved on to the Marine Corps Finance Center, as a Computer Programmer Analyst. She was a member of Christ Church Anglican, a Doe at Elks Lodge #26, and one of the last senior members of Richey’s Club.
Dee and Lee traveled often to the Lake of the Ozarks, when her children were growing up. After retirement they enjoyed traveling the world on their many cruise ship expeditions. Dee enjoyed singing song parodies, and dancing, especially after a few good drinks. Anyone who asked the secret to living for 90 years, she would tell you it was the Bn74Dee. She was a devoted wife, and her greatest blessings in life were her children and grandchildren. For all that knew her she will be greatly missed, we love you.
Dee is called to heaven to see her husband of over 60 years, Lee Yount. Also her parents Josephine Margaret Russ-Sells; Ernest and Ruth Sells; Veda and Earl Yount; Sisters, Jo and Rosie (Florence), and beloved son Jimmy.
Dee leaves her Daughter, Cindy; Grandchildren, Jaime (David) and Bobby; Great Grandson, Trae; Half Brother, Bud Sells; as well as many close family friends.
Visitation will be from 9am-10am at Floral Hills, Saturday October 11th, with services to begin at 10am. Be sure to join us at Richey’s Club for a taco bar, and a drink to honor Dee immediately following services.
